1/4 cup water
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste
12 slider buns
For the Coleslaw:
4 cups shredded cabbage
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon celery seed
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Place the pork shoulder in a slow cooker.
In a bowl, mix together the BBQ sauce, water, brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
Pour the sauce mixture over the pork.
Season with salt and pepper.
Cook on low for 6-8 hours, or until the pork is tender and shreds easily.
Remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it with two forks.
Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and stir to coat with the sauce.
While the pork is cooking, prepare the coleslaw. In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, and celery seed.
Season the coleslaw with salt and pepper to taste.
Toast the slider buns lightly.
Spoon the BBQ pulled pork onto the bottom half of each slider bun.
Top with a generous portion of coleslaw.
Place the top half of the bun on each slider.
Notes
For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the BBQ sauce mixture.
You can make the pulled pork ahead of time and reheat it before serving.
If you don’t have a slow cooker, you can also cook the pork in a Dutch oven in the oven at 300°F (150°C) for 3-4 hours, or until tender.
