Make the creamy, tangy, and savory Italian salad dressing served at Olive Garden restaurants using simple ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup white wine vinegar
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. Combine the mayonnaise, water, white wine vinegar, Parmesan cheese, vegetable oil, sugar, Dijon mustard, oregano, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder in a blender or food processor.
  2. Blend the mixture on medium speed until it is completely smooth and creamy. Stop and scrape down the sides as needed.
  3. Taste the dressing and adjust salt or sugar if necessary.
  4. Transfer the dressing to an airtight container.
  5. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld.

Notes

  • For a thinner dressing, add water one tablespoon at a time until you reach your desired consistency.
  • Store the dressing in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • This recipe yields a dressing that is thick and creamy, similar to the restaurant version.
