Make the creamy, zesty sauce found in Taco Bell’s chicken quesadillas using simple ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Instructions

  1. Combine the mayonnaise and sour cream in a medium bowl.
  2. Add the water and white vinegar to the mixture.
  3. Whisk in the cumin, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper until completely smooth.
  4. Taste the sauce and adjust salt or cayenne pepper if needed.
  5. Cover the bowl and refrigerate the sauce for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to blend.
  6. Use this sauce inside your homemade chicken quesadillas or serve it as a dip.

Notes

  • If the sauce seems too thick after chilling, whisk in an additional teaspoon of water until you reach your desired consistency.
  • For a complete quesadilla, layer shredded cooked chicken, Monterey Jack cheese, and a spoonful of this sauce between two tortillas, then grill until golden brown.
