Make this quick and flavorful Garlic Butter Chicken and Broccoli Stir Fry for an easy weeknight dinner. The chicken is tender and coated in a rich garlic butter sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 large head of broccoli, cut into florets
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, chicken broth, and cornstarch until smooth. Set aside.
  2. Season the cut chicken pieces with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Add the butter to the same skillet over medium heat. Once melted, add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  5. Add the broccoli florets to the skillet. Stir fry for 3-4 minutes until they start to become tender-crisp.
  6. Pour the soy sauce mixture into the skillet. Bring the sauce to a simmer, stirring constantly until it thickens, about 1-2 minutes.
  7. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet. Add the Italian seasoning. Toss everything together until the chicken and broccoli are fully coated in the garlic butter sauce.
  8. Serve immediately over rice or noodles.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, use fresh garlic instead of pre-minced.
  • If you prefer a spicier dish, add 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes with the garlic.
  • To make this a one-pan meal, serve over steamed white rice.
