Ingredients
Scale
1 pound linguine
1/2 cup unsalted butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
1/4 cup dry white wine (optional)
Salt and black pepper to taste
Lemon wedges for serving (optional)
Instructions
Cook linguine according to package directions. Drain, reserving about 1/2 cup of pasta water.
While pasta cooks, melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
Add shrimp to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until pink and cooked through.
If using, pour in white wine and let it simmer for 1 minute.
Add the drained linguine to the skillet with the shrimp and garlic butter.
Toss to combine, adding a little reserved pasta water if needed to create a smooth sauce.
Stir in fresh parsley.
Serve immediately, with lemon wedges if desired.
Notes
For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of red pepper flakes with the garlic.
Adjust the amount of garlic to your preference.
If you don’t have white wine, you can use chicken broth or more reserved pasta water.
Ensure shrimp is not overcooked to prevent it from becoming tough.
