Create the ultimate festive cocktail with this Peppermint Espresso Martini. It blends rich coffee flavor with cool peppermint, perfect for holiday gatherings. This recipe is quick to make and delivers a sophisticated, invigorating taste.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz Vodka
  • 1 oz Freshly Brewed Espresso, cooled
  • 0.5 oz Coffee Liqueur (like Kahlua)
  • 0.5 oz Peppermint Schnapps or Peppermint Syrup
  • 0.5 oz Simple Syrup (adjust to taste)
  • Ice
  • For the Rim: Chocolate Syrup and Crushed Peppermint Candies
  • For Garnish: 3 Coffee Beans or a Candy Cane Piece

Instructions

  1. Prepare the rim: Pour a thin layer of chocolate syrup onto a small plate. On a separate plate, spread the crushed peppermint candies. Dip the rim of your martini glass first into the chocolate syrup, then immediately into the crushed peppermint to coat. Set the glass aside.
  2. Combine ingredients: Add the vodka, cooled espresso, coffee liqueur, peppermint schnapps (or syrup), and simple syrup into a cocktail shaker.
  3. Add ice: Fill the shaker two-thirds full with ice.
  4. Shake well: Close the shaker tightly and shake vigorously for about 15 to 20 seconds until the shaker is very cold. This creates the signature foam.
  5. Strain and serve: Double strain the mixture into your prepared, chilled martini glass.
  6. Garnish: Place three coffee beans on the foam or add a small candy cane piece to the rim. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a richer, mocha flavor, substitute 0.5 oz of the simple syrup with chocolate syrup in the shaker.
  • If you prefer a creamier texture, add 0.5 oz of heavy cream or half-and-half to the shaker before shaking.
  • Make sure your espresso is fully cooled; hot espresso will melt the ice too quickly and dilute the drink.
