Make this creamy, savory sausage cheese dip in your slow cooker for easy serving at parties or game days. It uses just a few ingredients for a crowd-pleasing appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound bulk pork sausage
  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 (10 ounce) can diced tomatoes and green chilies (Rotel), undrained
  • 1 (16 ounce) package processed cheese (Velveeta style), cubed
  • 1/4 cup milk (optional, for thinning)

Instructions

  1. Brown the sausage in a skillet over medium heat. Drain off any excess grease completely.
  2. Transfer the cooked sausage to a small slow cooker (2-quart size works well).
  3. Add the condensed cream of mushroom soup, the undrained diced tomatoes and green chilies, and the cubed processed cheese to the slow cooker.
  4. Stir the ingredients together gently.
  5. Cook on LOW for 2 hours, stirring every 30 minutes until the cheese is fully melted and the dip is smooth.
  6. If the dip seems too thick after melting, stir in the milk until you reach your desired consistency.
  7. Keep the dip warm on the WARM setting until serving. Serve with tortilla chips or crackers.

Notes

  • For a spicier dip, use the hot variety of diced tomatoes and green chilies.
  • You can substitute cream of celery soup for cream of mushroom soup if you prefer a different base flavor.
  • If you do not have a slow cooker, you can melt the ingredients together in a large saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly.
