Make simple, bite-sized sugar cookie truffles using pre-made cookies and cream cheese. These no-bake treats are coated in chocolate and perfect for holidays.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (16 ounce) package store-bought sugar cookies (or homemade)
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup white chocolate melting wafers (or milk/dark chocolate)
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional, for smoother dipping)
  • Sprinkles, for decoration

Instructions

  1. Place the sugar cookies in a food processor and pulse until you have fine crumbs. If you do not have a food processor, place them in a sturdy plastic bag and crush them thoroughly with a rolling pin.
  2. Transfer the cookie crumbs to a medium bowl. Add the softened cream cheese.
  3. Mix the crumbs and cream cheese together using a spatula or clean hands until a uniform dough forms. If the mixture seems too dry, add cream cheese one teaspoon at a time until it holds together.
  4. Roll the dough into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter. Place the balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Chill the cookie balls in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to firm them up.
  6. Melt the white chocolate wafers according to package directions. You can use a double boiler or microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval. Stir in the coconut oil if using.
  7. Dip each chilled cookie ball into the melted chocolate, ensuring it is fully coated. Let excess chocolate drip off.
  8. Immediately place the coated truffle back onto the parchment-lined sheet. While the chocolate is still wet, top with sprinkles.
  9. Allow the chocolate coating to set completely at room temperature or chill briefly for faster setting.

Notes

  • If you prefer a fudge like cookie balls texture, use slightly less cream cheese.
  • For a different flavor, substitute the white chocolate with milk or dark chocolate for coating.
  • These make ahead dessert truffles store well in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
