A simple, festive punch recipe perfect for Thanksgiving, offering both spiked and non-alcoholic versions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups apple cider
  • 3 cups cranberry juice cocktail
  • 2 cups orange juice, chilled
  • 1 liter ginger ale or club soda, chilled (optional for mocktail)
  • 1 cup bourbon or vodka (optional for spiked version)
  • 1 orange, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
  • Ice ring or cubes

Instructions

  1. In a large punch bowl or dispenser, combine the apple cider, cranberry juice, and orange juice. Stir well.
  2. If making the alcoholic version, stir in the bourbon or vodka now.
  3. Chill the mixture for at least 2 hours, or prepare this base up to 24 hours ahead of time.
  4. Just before serving, gently stir in the chilled ginger ale or club soda if using. Do not stir vigorously to keep the carbonation.
  5. Add the orange slices and whole cranberries to the punch bowl.
  6. Serve the punch over a large ice ring or ice cubes.

Notes

  • For a beautiful presentation, freeze some cranberries and orange slices in water in a bundt pan to create an ice ring.
  • If you prefer a less sweet punch, substitute half of the cranberry juice with unsweetened cranberry juice.
  • To make this a Prosecco punch, omit the ginger ale and add 1 bottle (750ml) of chilled Prosecco just before serving.
