Make a rich, creamy chocolate mousse using avocado for a healthy, dairy-free dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ripe avocados
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened plant milk (almond or soy)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a food processor or high-speed blender.
  2. Add the cocoa powder, maple syrup, plant milk, vanilla extract, and salt to the food processor.
  3. Process the ingredients until completely smooth and creamy. Stop and scrape down the sides as needed to ensure no avocado chunks remain.
  4. Taste the mousse and add more maple syrup if you prefer a sweeter result.
  5. Divide the mousse into small serving dishes.
  6. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow it to firm up slightly.

Notes

  • Use very ripe avocados for the best texture and to ensure the flavor blends completely.
  • For a richer chocolate taste, use high-quality dark cocoa powder.
  • If the mixture is too thick, add plant milk one tablespoon at a time until you reach your desired consistency.
