This colorful winter fruit salad brings brightness to cold days using seasonal citrus, apples, and pomegranate. The simple honey-lime dressing makes this an easy, healthy side dish or refreshing snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 large navel oranges, peeled and segmented
  • 2 kiwi fruits, peeled and sliced
  • 2 firm apples (like Honeycrisp or Fuji), cored and diced
  • 1 cup pomegranate arils
  • 1 cup green grapes, halved
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest

Instructions

  1. Prepare the fruit: Peel and segment the oranges, slice the kiwi, dice the apples, and halve the grapes. Place all prepared fruit and the pomegranate arils into a large mixing bowl.
  2. Make the honey-lime dressing: In a small bowl, whisk together the fresh lime juice, honey, and lime zest until the honey is fully dissolved.
  3. Dress the salad: Pour the honey-lime dressing evenly over the fruit mixture. Gently toss the fruit until everything is lightly coated.
  4. Serve immediately for the best texture, or chill for 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. This is a perfect holiday fruit side dish.

Notes

  • For extra color and flavor, you can add one cup of segmented grapefruit or thinly sliced pears to this seasonal fruit salad.
  • If you are preparing this ahead of time, keep the dressing separate and toss the salad no more than 30 minutes before serving to keep the apples crisp.
  • This recipe is naturally gluten free and vegetarian.
